A man was walking along a Southern California beach and saw a piece of metal sticking up out of the sand. He pulled a brass lamp out of the sand, brushed it off, and Genie suddenly popped out.
The Genie was overcome with gratitude for being freed from the lamp where he had been a prisoner for hundreds of years. He looked at the man and said, "I will grant you one wish for anything you want."
The man thought for a while and filially said, "My wife and I have always wanted to go to Hawaii for a long vacation before we die,,"
The Genie started to grant the wish... when the man continues...
"But I get sea sick and we can not travel by ship, and my wife gets air sick so we can not fly. So could you build us a bridge from the mainland to Hawaii?"
The Genie was astounded by the massive wish. "Do you realize what an enormous undertaking a bridge from here to Hawaii would be; how many millions of tons of earth, concrete, and reinforcing steel it would take?

Do you have any comprehension of the strength of the ocean currents, the depth of the sea trenches, the ferocity of the Pacific storms? Isn't there any another wish I could grant for you?"
The man thought for quite a lengthy time and finally said there is one other thing he has always wanted.
"Yes, what is it? I will grant it."
"Well, I have always wanted to understand women."
"Did you want that to be a two lane or four lane bridge?"
